The outdoor balcony is done. Functionally, this was put into the design when we discovered that we couldn't get a queen box up the stairs (too narrow).

The plumber was in yesterday to install fixtures. We had installed the all the tile. The people in the instructional video looked so happy and cheery. Although I wouldn't go as far as calling the process miserable, it is a phenomenal amount of work. We tiled 200 square feet of floor and walls.

Most of the tile budget went to the floor tile as we figured that it would be the longest lived. Most of the accent tiles are unique. Not all of them depict the Death Star.

Here is the basic pattern in the shower stall. The tile cuts are identical to the floor, but there is a definite pattern of colors (mustard, green and blue in columns).

And of course we get self-portaits in chrome.

And more...

And more.

The overall project is finishing up, from the contractor's point of view, but our task list grows as a result: install drywall in unfinished rooms, seal grout, put in silicone, stain/paint doors, install door and window casings and sills and rosettes, install attic hatchway ladder, install whole house fan, finish Cat-5 wiring for LAN, and breathe. Don't forget to breathe.
